So Goth
Today was a masterwork:
Coffee and sugar on my American Gothic.
Daily taxes write off, twice a day,
Broken English to the bare naked poor.
Broken bottles spill the ships from the harbor
As we thrash about the distillery,
Loveless in disguise,
All of us, holding potatoes in a sack,
Skin off the moles and hand them to paupers
Some of us took the risk together,
Some of them never made it back to shore.
